Hi Michael! It was great to ride those tracks again – not often us Jobergers get a chance to ride out there so it was special. Just had a bit of a laugh when we went through what was the 1 and only water point of Stage 8 this year…I burnt my calf on my smoking-hot brake rotor at that point…..got a Avid-rotor scar now as a visible memory So only good memories!

How did you feel about riding parts of the Epic again? Did it bring back good or bad memories?

Thanks for the comment John. That is my thinking too. Think I’ll replace my current crank and keep my bike as a spare. Once I find the bike with the X9 2X10 setup I like, then I’ll get it.

Are you running 2X10, or thinking of moving to it?

I agree with the horndog. A good partner is the most important. Luckily I’ve had a brilliant partner for the last 2 years.

If you get the chance to do it, you MUST do it.

I believe the price of next years race is even more than this years. Good luck getting sponsors.

It is something that I’d one day like to do, but I fear I’ll need to save for many years, or somehow get sponsors.

Hi Michael

We’ll definitely do the race again! We are just looking for sponsors at the moment to help cover costs…..

In my mind there are 3 ultra-important things you need for a successful Epic:

1. Do the training!
2. Good bib shorts!
3. The right partner! (most important)

Are you looking to do the Epic?? If so – I highly recommend it!!!!

Nice run down of the race. From what I read I guess having a good partner makes a big difference?
